Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When does therapy start?

Usually the day after admission. In some cases, i.e. a weekend admission, there may be a slight delay.

What types of therapy do you offer?

We have PT, ST, and OT therapies on-site, and have respiratory therapists available on an as-needed basis

When will I receive my medications?

Skilled nursing facilities do not have pharmacies in-house. After we verify the physician’s medication orders upon admission, our contracted pharmacy is informed and medications are dispensed and delivered to the facility. This process can take some time to complete. For prescriptions of schedule II narcotics, it is the law that our physician communicates directly with the pharmacist to authorize. This can lead to slight delays.

Who will orientate me to the facility?

Within the first 24 hours representatives from our Dietary, Activities, Therapy and Discharge Planning departments will speak with you directly and introduce themselves to you. They will help answer any questions.

Who do I speak with if I have a concern?

Benton Collins, the Administrator of Patewood Post-Acute will introduce himself to you and check in on you frequently throughout your stay. You can speak to him about any general concerns. Below is a list of individuals and their phone numbers that you can contact to direct specific questions/concerns to:

Are you experiencing staffing shortages?

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused staffing shortages industry-wide. We are not immune to these issues, but we are continually adapting by offering competitive wages, partnering with local CNA and Nursing schools, and employing a robust recruitment program. We also work every day to develop a culture of caring within our facility that inspires our employees to work hard and enjoy the organization they work for.

How do I provide positive feedback to Patewood Post-Acute?

Any positive feedback is much appreciated. Our caregivers have difficult jobs and they love hearing that their efforts are noticed. We love to receive and encourage positive reviews on www.google.com and/or www.yelp.com.

How do you protect patients, staff, and visitors from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases?

Our team is highly trained and experienced in caring for high-acuity patients and infectious diseases like COVID-19. Our dedicated infection prevention nurse helps ensure we follow current infection prevention guidelines and best practices. This includes educating all staff about the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as N95 masks, surgical masks, gloves, and gowns and when to use COVID-19 protocols required by local department of public health and/or the CDC.
